Hello!
Since I recently broke my phone and I seem to have misplaced my camera, I haven't been able to take any photos for this post, so I'm afraid I'm using older ones I already had saved to my laptop.
Looking back over this year, I think I've really managed to come into my own style; I've started to wear things I feel comfortable in rather the things that are 'in fashion', and I feel a whole lot better for it! I've found that I often receive compliments on what I'm wearing and, the best part is, I feel confident! I've always liked things that are a little bit 'quirky' and I am a huge fan of vintage clothes, so I've had a look back at some of the outfit choices I made in 2014 and I'm going to share my favourites with you.
// dress - charity shop // cardigan - primark //
My favourite thing about this outfit is that altogether I think it cost less than £20! My friend works in a charity shop in my town and she spotted this gem and thought I might like it, so she kindly set it to one side for me. It was love at first sight and I'm so glad she thought of me when she saw it because it is definitely one of my all time favourite dresses now. I can't wait for the sunnier weather so I can wear it more!
// dress - quiz // tiara - debenhams //
I turned 18 in March this year and this is the dress I found to wear for my party. Even though I have never found another occasion to wear it again, I will probably keep this dress forever. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw it for a little under £40! It was absolutely perfect and exactly what I wanted.
// top - primark // playsuit - ark //
When I spotted this playsuit whilst browsing the internet I just HAD to have it. I'm a huge fan of tartan and playsuits, so both of them together is a must-have for me. I bought a pink top from New Look to wear with it rather than the green because I think the pink is a little more complimentary, but I think either looks good, or it could even be paired with a white top! I've worn this more times than I can count, it's definitely my go-to outfit for when I can't decide what to wear.
Halloween! It's one of my absolute favourite holidays, I just love to dress up!! I'm not sure where my costume is from as I borrowed it from my mum. I have always wanted to be a vampire on Halloween and this year I finally got to fulfil that wish. It probably would have been much more effective if the white face paint had worked and I'd managed to put both contact lenses in!
// top - river island // skirt - beyond retro //
This outfit, paired with an orange-tinted lipstick, was absolutely perfect for autumn. The skirt is one of my favourite clothing items I own, it's just so unique and I'm a sucker for a floral pattern! I thought it looked really nice in contrast with the light colour of the top. Definitely an autumn wardrobe keeper!
// dress - debenhams //
Early in December I went to my work's Christmas party. I searched high and low for something to wear and eventually came across this gorgeous dress for just £23! It's not something I would usually go for, but who can resist a little sparkle at Christmas? Even if the glitter does get everywhere...
// crop top - topshop // skirt - new look // bracelet - chamilia //
This was the outfit I was going to wear on New Year's Eve, but decided to wear on New Year's Day instead. I'm not usually one for crop tops, but I thought I'd give it a go since it was only £10 and it goes so perfectly with the gorgeous tartan skirt (I think I paid around £18 for the skirt). Maybe it's an outfit I'll wear more after a couple more months of hitting the gym, who knows?!
So those are my favourite outfits of 2014!
What are yours? Do you have a go-to outfit?
