Hello & Happy New Year!
Sorry about my absence, I decided to take a break from blogging to focus on Uni work and to spend time with friends and family. I had a really relaxed Christmas with my family, then I spent New Years Eve with my best friends which was absolutely wonderful!
I've decided it's time to start making use of this blog again. This year I am going to be more organised and remember to post a couple of times per week at the very least.
Last night was one of the best nights I have had in a long time. It's always lovely to see my friends, especially with us all being at different universities now, but it was especially lovely to welcome the new year with them. I couldn't possibly have asked for a better way to end 2014 and kick off 2015!

In terms of new years resolutions, I have a few small changes I'm planning to make, but nothing too extravagant. I know my life isn't going to change with the date on the calendar, but I can choose to take small steps towards becoming who I want to be.
So here are my 2015 resolutions:
1. Be healthy! I know this is such a cliché and everyone says they're going to do it every year, but it lasts about 3 weeks before McDonald's just gets that bit too tempting. The reason it is going to be different for me this time is because I'm not doing it to lose weight, or even tone, I simply want to live a healthier lifestyle so that I have more energy and feel better in myself. I'm not dieting, I don't even intend to exercise all that much more than I do (I go to the gym about twice a week), I just want to make small changes, e.g. substitute a fizzy drink for water, or regular tea for green tea, walk instead of getting a lift, etc. little things like that will make all the difference.
2. Write more! Being a creative writing student and an aspiring writer, I do write a hell of a lot, but I feel like there are times when I'm on Tumblr or watching YouTube videos which could otherwise be spent writing. I just want to spend more of my spare time putting pen to paper and coming up with new characters and story ideas, rather than being counter-productive on social media.
3. Be more organised! I am one of the least organised people to have ever walked this planet, and because of this I often forget things or leave things to the last minute. I think I will always be a 'last minute' kind of person, but there are ways of being a little more organised and making sure I spend my days more productively. I have a dairy to write important dates in as they are arranged, and I'm going to buy a weekly planner to put on my wall at uni so that I can have what I need to do each day planned out at the beginning of the week. Hopefully I'll be able to stick at it and be a less stressed, more organised person by the end of this year.
4. Wake up earlier! Since starting university, my sleeping pattern has been worse than ever. I want to try waking up everyday at 8am (excluding the day after a night out), to see if it regulates my sleeping pattern. I also feel like getting up early will give me more hours in the day to get everything done that I need to do.
5. Be positive! Due to unfortunate circumstances, I already know that 2015 is going to be a rough year for myself and my family, but I want to try and keep a positive attitude and try to make the best out of a horrible situation. Some things are just beyond our control and there's nothing we can do to change it, so as much as it hurts and as much as we feel like we can't carry on, we have to power through. It will get better eventually.
"Start now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling. But start. Start and don't stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just...Start."

How did you celebrate the new year?
Have you got any resolutions this year?
All my love
